Below are just a few of the ways we engage and support our team through our culture initiatives:
Prayer Circle
For anyone who wants to join, both the manufacturing plant and the front office start off each day with a prayer circle. We say a quick prayer to ask for safety throughout the day and to start our day from a place of gratitude.
While it originally started with two team members, it has quickly grown and been passed on from team member to member to keep the legacy alive.
Tuesdays with Tom
Every month, we host a pastor who shares a message with our team over lunch. Our team has the ability to take a longer break and also hear a relevant message from Pastor Tom that can be helpful in both their personal and professional lives.
Annual Company Party
Every year, we host an annual company party where we invite employees and their spouses to celebrate our successes and get to know each other better.
Family Fun Day
Every summer, we love to host a Family Fun Day where our team can bring their families to kick back and enjoy. From a big bounce house to a dunk tank to food trucks, there’s fun to be had by everyone.
Sponsored Golf Outings
Throughout the year, we sponsor a variety of charity golf outings, giving our team members the opportunity to play golf on the company’s behalf.
How We Engage Our Community
We are always looking for ways to support our community.
Backpack Drive
With roots in Thorntown, the owners are especially passionate about giving back to that community.
Every year, we help run a backpack drive to gather school supplies through the ministry, Catch the WAVE Program (we value each other), located in Thorntown, Indiana. Last year, we helped gather enough supplies for 200 backpacks and handed them out to the children of all ages. We also donate whatever is leftover to Thorntown Elementary.
Kids are truly the future and we’re happy to help support them and the educators however we can.
Trinity Life Ministry
IGH Steel is a second chance employer that truly believes that every person deserves a chance to prove and better themselves. That’s why we’re proud to partner with and support Trinity Life Ministry.
Trinity Life Ministry offers a redemptive community that brings hope by transforming men’s lives and reconciling their families through the power of Jesus Christ. They’ve been ministering to those trapped in addiction since 1985, and many of our team members have come to us through Trinity.
From helping them through recovery, working on themselves, and getting them out into the work to get a job or back on their feet. Trinity has truly provided a second chance for these men to survive and thrive.
Mighty Little Hands Academy
We had a potential candidate that we were trying to employ, but when we provided the offer, we found out they couldn’t come work for us because of the lack of childcare.
Having children ourselves, we know how expensive and difficult finding childcare can be. So, we decided to take matters into our own hands and support the development of Mighty Little Hands Academy.
We’ve allowed MLHA to transform our old offices into a childcare facility that is open to our employees and our community. Learn more here.
